Students at Columbia University re-established their encampment on the South Lawn, naming it “Revolt for Rafah — Installment I”. This protest, coinciding with Alumni Weekend, is a direct response to the ongoing massacres in Rafah conducted by Israel, according to organizers.
Wayne State students and alumni launched their Gaza solidarity encampment on Thursday, days after police raided University of Michigan Ann Arbor’s encampment.
DePaul University alumni disrupted the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences Alumni Reception—a high level gathering of donors. Alumni protestors are calling on DePaul to divest from Israel’s genocide in Gaza, in which at least 40,000 Palestinians have been killed, including over 15,000 children, in the span of eight months.

The police in riot gear entered the university’s quad and disbursed most of the students. Two sttudnets were arrested and students on the scene said one of the arrestees hijab was removed by a Chicago Police Department officer.
DePaul University Divestment Coalition, which launched their encampment on the school’s quad 12 days ago, said the administration has left the negotiating table in bad faith.
Approximately 100 Zionists enclosed the encampment’s main entrance but couldn’t enter. Students, once again, were more organized and prepared to defend the camp.
Zio-Proud Boys Charged at the encampment while Chicago police and University of Chicago police stood by for approximately 40 minutes. The group never breached the encampment as the campers were far more organized and prepared to defend themselves.
More than 50 tents stretched out across the middle of University of Michigan’s campus on Tuesday morning, marking the ninth day of this student encampment for Gaza. As graduation and the semester’s end nears, students camping out don’t look like they’re going anywhere.
A group of “autonomous students” has occupied Hamilton Hall and renamed the building after Hind Rajab, the young girl who was murdered by Israel earlier this year during their bombardment of Gaza, according to the Columbia University Apartheid Divest Coalition.
Currently at the Northwestern University “Liberation Zone” in solidarity with Gaza, Palestine. Approximately 200-300 students,faculty and alumni have gathered at Deering Meadow. Organizers are demanding disclosure of school finances and divestment from Israel.
On Thursday, April 18, 2024, Columbia University President Minouche Shafik authorized the NYPD to arrest students participating in the "Gaza Solidarity Encampment" on the university's South Lawn around 1:30pm.

The Palestine national baseball team is now ranked No. 46 in the world after its performance at the Asia Baseball Championship (ABC). Zaki Haj has been pitching for the Palestinian national baseball team since 2021 and has thrown as fast as 91 miles per hour. Haj, whose lineage traces back to Beitunia (a village near Ramallah), notched three strikeouts in three innings on the mound during the West Asia Cup. He most recently pitched for Florida National University.
Tarik El-Abour is the first and only Palestinian to be signed by a Major League Baseball (MLB) team. Back in 2018, with the help of team advisor Reggie Jackson, El-Abour was signed by the Kansas City Royals to a minor league deal with the opportunity to earn a spot on the major league roster. He is currently a free agent and has been staying in shape by training daily and playing for the Palestinian national team.
Adam Musa is an outfielder and pitcher for the Palestinian national baseball team. Musa pitched seven solid innings for Team Palestine during the West Asia Cup. The team had a small pitching staff, so his performance was a huge stress reliever. He struck out 10 batters and only gave up one hit as he pitched half the team’s innings during the group stage and semi finals.
Rumsey Yasin had an explosive debut with the Palestinian national team last January in Pakistan. Yasin, who currently plays NCAA Division II baseball, led the team with 10 runs batted in and a batting average above .400. The first baseman joined the team late last year, but is already committed to helping this team grow on and off the field.
