Chicago Police Department raids, removes DePaul encampment
Chicago police raided the DePaul University Encampment early this morning.
Police in riot gear entered the university’s quad and disbursed most of the students. Two sttudnets were arrested and students on the scene said one of the arrestees hijab was removed by a Chicago Police Department officer.
According to the DePaul Divestment Coalition, the office of the president of the university signed the complaint that led to the raid and arrests.
Students are gathered outside the encampment protesting the raid, while the police keep everyone out of The Quad.
