Dave Zirin criticizes Steve Kerr's DNC speech
Dave Zirin, a political sports writer and sports editor for The Nation, criticized Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr’s speech at the Democratic National Convention last month.
Zirin spoke on the panel “Sports and the Fight for a Free Palestine“ at the Socialism Conference in Chicago where he said he hoped Steve Kerr would invoke his late great father Malcolm, who was considered “an absolute hero among middle eastern scholars.”
“I kept thinking how bad ass it would be for him to go up there and say ‘I need to speak in the tradition of my father and say that The policies of this party are wrong. We need an arms embargo; we need a cease fire.’”
