Palestinians You Need to Know: Lena Seikaly
Lena Seikaly is a Palestinian-American jazz vocalist from the Washington, D.C. area.
She has headlined at jazz clubs, concert halls and festivals all over the U.S. and throughout Europe and Asia, and was a semifinalist in the 2015 Thelonious Monk Institute of Jazz International Vocals Competition. She has released four albums, one being a tribute to two of her biggest influences, Ella Fitzgerald and Billie Holiday. This year, Seikaly plans to focus her efforts on education and cultivating the next generation of jazz singers.
