In the eighth episode of Zahra Haider’s Memoirs of a Stolen Land, “Connections as a Global Issue,” Omar Offendum talks about his art and activism and how it relate to Palestine. Offendum discusses the Palestinian conflict on how it has become a metaphor for other struggles around the world.
Omar Offendum is a Syrian-American hip-hop artist based in Los Angeles. He is currently touring for his solo release “SyrianamericanA.” He is inspired by Palestinian poets like Mahmoud Darwish and Arabic music and culture.

Zahra Haider, the producer of the video series, is originally from the Dallas metropolitan area. She is now a sophomore at Northwestern University studying journalism and film. She is involved in Northwestern News Network and the Daily Northwestern.
