Arab Idol winner Mohammed Assaf set for US tour

Palestinian singer Mohammed Assaf will perform in seven major U.S. cities during the Peace Cures Benefit Tour beginning next month.

The concerts will help raise money for a scholarship fund for Al Quds University, a dialysis care center in Gaza and to fund clinics and pharmacies in Palestinian and Syrian refugee camps in Lebanon.

Palestinian Children Care (PEACE), which  coordinated the tour, is a non-profit organization that helps children all over the Middle East receive medical care.PEACE is working with Rahma Relief Foundation to make sure that the aid raised is received by the appropriate parties.

“Assaf will be performing free of charge, in support of [PEACE] and the causes to which we hope to contribute together,” Assaf tour coordinator Khairi Shadid told Palestine in America.

Assaf will begin the tour in Chicago on February 19 at the Copernicus Center. After Assaf’s show in Chicago, he will visit Houston, Anaheim, Sacramento, Detroit, Orlando and New Jersey.

Assaf will return to Chicago at the end of the tour, according to PEACE tour coordinators. You can buy tickets for the tour here. You can win two tickets to the concert in Chicago by entering Palestine in America’s contest.
